Reading, Berkshire – July 9th 2010. Decon Sciences, the UK’s fastest growing provider of surgical instrument decontamination services today announces the huge success it has achieved with Solent Healthcare, part of Southampton Primary Care Trust, in its first year of providing an outsourced decontamination service. The contract included the supply, sterilization and delivery of all Podiatry instrumentation to their 16 community based clinics across Southampton and South West Hampshire.
Decon Sciences works closely with a number of Primary Care Trusts offering a complete service to assist in the management of the sterile supply chain. After an extensive tendering process Southampton awarded the contract to Decon Sciences, who have worked closely with the podiatry clinicians to successfully source high quality instruments and lead a seamless move from benchtop sterilizers to a successful outsourced decontamination service.
Decon Sciences were able to offer expert advice and provide full traceability of all instruments throughout the decontamination process back to the patient. Despite certain challenges they were able to accommodate Southampton’s contract variation request and acted accordingly to overcome any issues, remaining as flexible in their approach as possible.
